Hey Jack Frost go away!!!

Brrrrr it's been cold here!
Well I didn't get a Santa finished this year but I did complete my Arts Dolls Only Challenge for December..and yes you guessed it it's Jack Frost, a  mischievous  little character who brings on winter and would love more than anything for it to remain winter forever!
Another frosty character is a snowman and here is one I received for a Holiday Ball Doll Swap, hosted by Zan Asha from Vagabond Creations. My snowman was cleverly made by Hope Jones from Pixie's Ponderings. He is very cute, OH look he already has a secret admirer!
Snowman with a new nose, do you like it?
This Snowman is the one I made for Hope!

New in my studio today

Once the critters leave the sewing area they head off to here for their socks and shoes to be painted. Various other goings on happen here too.
A doll in a green dress has just had a coat of varnish applied. A white doll rests behind her waiting for further details to be painted on to her.
Doll in a red dress waiting for her final coat of varnish and then to fixed into place on top of the roof for one of my Xmas ornaments.

A box of recently finished critters awaiting tags and names!
I still haven't made a Santa Claus, there is still time left..5 days to go....better dash!

More places to shop for Little Black Crow Art and Critters!

Phew what a busy and productive time of the year and it isn't over yet! It's certainly full on in my studio at the moment making my usual critters, dolls and painting but also making my own patterns and testing them out, not all have worked but they are never thrown out. I have a recycle bin that all my rejects go in, you know heads and limbs can always be used else where..something I learned from Dr Frankenstein very early on! Actually not much gets thrown out as there is another bin used for all those bits of tiny fabric waste, too small for making clothes with but maybe not to small for covering buttons or stitching together for a tiny quilt! I do have a hard time throwing things out I admit it.
But as production is increasing the size of my studio is diminishing at an alarming rate. To remedy this I've decided to open up a couple more online shops...just to spread the love a little further. Now you can find my work at Madeit

and ArtFire
You are all welcomed to take a look there are some new items there that you may have not seen yet.

It's back into the studio of me I've a few new dolls to finish before  Xmas and the New Year!

arkmetal Pig and Ruby Victoria aka Narelle
It was a rather quiet affair this time at EastSide Makers Market, but a good time was had by all stall holders who's work was beautiful and varied. I was very happy my two buddies where there ArkMetal Pig..my partner! And one of Australia's best and well known letterpress artist Narelle from Ruby Victoria Letterpress & Printmaking!
Made a couple of new friends Margret who does the finest needle work ever and the two sisters who's names escape me for now but I'll post it here when I track you down!! They made beautiful hand bags, brooches and ornaments.
Now off to plan for 2011!
