It's weird but I like it!
Isn't the life of an artist/crafter weird...they start months ahead of the holiday season preparing stock for their shop and consignment orders....I know of some doll makers that make nothing else but Christmas dolls and animals...To me it's like a childhood dream come true...to be surrounded by Halloween, Easter and Christmas dolls and ornaments. I JUST LOVE IT!
You should see my studio and lounge room at the moment...on second thoughts perhaps not...more than once the cat disappeared and I don't know were he was hiding but he was pretty pleased with himself when he emerged!
The cute trio of Xmas characters are my new additions to my etsy shop!
Rudolf has been sold and is on his way to America!
So needless to say it is a busy, busy time for little black crow...maybe I should be making elves...I could do with extra pairs of hands around here!!
Things are also getting very busy at Artisans Creating Outside The Line...don't know what that's about take a look at our blog .

Here is one I finished earlier...but you can make her however you want. Get creative!
Take a needle and run with one of Little Black Crow’s original Angel designs. The possibilities are endless with this simple design, you can embroider, applique or just colour her in! Turn her into a decorative ornament for your Christmas tree or fill her with dried lavender or potpourri and hang her in your clothes cupboard or drawers. Frame it, sew it onto a bag.
You can even make her a Goth Angel by simply using different coloured embroidery thread.
TIP: For embroidering the cheeks I split the thread and used only two strands.
*Feel free to make and sell your made items, as long as you give Little Black Crow credit. Please do not sell the pattern.
If you make one of these let me know I would love to see how you used this pattern. I may even set up a flickr group for us all to post our pics too...what do you think?

hot out of the oven!!
My two new creations Hansel and Gretal! They were made as part of the Arts Dolls Only group Quarterly Challenge, the title was 'Grimm's Fairy Tales'.
I didn't know if they were going to work, I just did a quick sketch and drew them out onto the cloth. Today was the last day of the challenge and time was running out but I didn't want to rush it...I tried to cheat a bit by using clothes I had for my bunnies but it just didn't work so all morning I made a whole new wardrobe for these two! I'm very happy that I did as they turned out just like how I imagined!!
They are cloth dolls, stuffed, coffee stained and rubbed with beeswax. All the buttons on their clothing are vintage. Their faces are hand embroidered and the leggings have been hand painted. The base is Huon pine with model makers grass glued to the top. A few little glass jewels are glued onto the ground to suggest dew or a bit for fairytale magic!
