Paper Plane and Doll wars illustrated

What happens when two doll makers are made it sit opposite to one another for great lengths at a time?
They say the pen is mightier than the sword in this case it was true as I'm not sure who cast the first stone but I as I make crap paper airplanes I know who threw the first paper plane...I have the paper cut to prove it!!
HiiRagi and her robot Zombie army tried to out wit the Raggedy doll and bunny army here are the oppositions illustrations....hopefully HiiRagi will have the courage to show her opponents damaging illustrations...who won well I'll just say that I'll be working hard on my sorties from here on in! Eastside Makers Market

My internet connection has been down for days so was unable to shout about Eastside Makers Markets first big day out! None the less it was a smashing success not only I think for us store holders and the people that came along and supported us and bought our works but for the wonderful and creative organizers!

Little Black Crow's Table...oooooo look new things that nobody has seen before..see, click on images and take a look around!!
I've been making cotton reel dolls from wooden spools and paper mache, I received lots of interest from these! Needle cases and a variety of pin cushions are very popular too.
I sold another painting, I would have liked to talk more to the guy that bought it but I was very busy at that time. He bought the 'Little Drummer Boy' for himself. I'm very pleased to have sold it but I do miss it..But this is a terrific inspiration to continue painting and creating as so many people complemented me and my work. I do believe in my work but I'll be honest that I do get insecure about what I do and the doubts start to creep in. I know that my family and friends all like what I do but when you hear it from complete strangers it is a good feeling and I very much appreciate it. So ...................................................THANK YOU!!

Now here is a peek at some of the other stall holders

Here is Nicole with her scrumptious shoes, I loved them all and if I hadn't been wearing my hiking goth socks I would have loved to try a few on!

Suzi's Treasury from her Nest, wonderful re-purposed found objects and recycled fabrics, cards and tags!!
Narelle from Ruby Victoria...a personal favorite! Narelle also had the wonderful and entertaining time having her stall next to the ARK METAL guys!

Yesterday's market and some new additions to Etsy

Little Kitty in a Jumper! It's a chilly morning her in Tasmania and my critters are in need of some winter woollies. And this little fella was the first to receive jumper made from 100% natural sheep's wool! Doesn't he look all toasty!!
Wish I could have worn this at the market stall yesterday. Marita from Loopee designs and I set up a huge tent together, unfortunately we chose the windy end part of town and it was a little chilly. I've know Marita for a while but it was the first time it was just the two of us and we chatted and joked all day it was good fun. Sales for me was a bit slow but covered the cost of the stall. However as with each market experience there is always something to enjoy and learn from. I met some people that I hadn't seen for years and hopefully made some new friends. I had lots of wonderful feed back from my work and I love it when people come up to me and tell me that they have one of my dolls and how much they enjoy their company.
Going through my work books I realized that my bunny count will be nearing 100 soon! I wont be stop making them but I wont be making them as often so definitely need to get to work in the laboratory and mix up a batch of new designs.....hmmmm maybe an army of Zombies for Rosies new adventure!

What is going on here!!

Who's attention are these boys trying to win over? Why its Betty Jo's Matryoshka doll! What, what is that she is saying? Go and take a look over here Find, Make, Do

...Oh my gosh Betty Jo has posted a lovely little piece about me and my dolls!!
I'm quite taken back by being her first featured artist on her new site. But do take a look apart from me there are write ups on other creative artists and crafts people. It's always an inspiration to see what other people are making, and to find out about new talents and even to buy some of their work.....something that I love doing!
So from all of us here in Little Black Crow's Studio we say thank you Betty Jo!!

Easter bunny buddies

Two cute little bunnies up for sale in my ETSY shop! Part of my new Autumn/Spring Easter bunnies. go hop along to see some more photos of these two here!!
Our real live bunny is in the naughty box! he found an escape route out of the backyard and into the front. Lucky we spotted him quickly and was able to catch him before he ventured towards the road! Now we have to find where he escaped from and block it up..not an easy job as it's thick with shrubs and weeds!

Back into the studio for me...lots and lots of dolls to put together for another market stall on the 20th! Trying to get some painting in too and a bit of gardening.

At last my Burlesque Babe is complete!!

Finally after much pain and swearing and pulling out of hair my doll for the Art dolls only challenge is finished. I'm pretty happy with her and again have learned a couple of new techniques...making cloth hands for one.
The outfit I made from a couple of patterns I found in 'The Little Corset Book, a workbook on period underwear' by Bonnie Holt Ambrose. The face is sculpted a little with gel medium!!
Well back to making bunnies!!
cheers
