New Doll!!!!

Clair and Rebecca..
Thank you for the names Jess and Kelsey!

The Hip Sisters. This months challenge for my Art Dolls Only group was 'Side Show Circus'. I was hoping to do a clay doll but being away from my tools meant I had to change tact. So with little time to spare as the deadline approached I decided to hand sew a little Siamese twin. My partner sent over some calico and thread. Andrew if you read this but sorry one of your pillows was donated to making art....pillow stuffing for her inners. I found some rusty old nails for her lags. I also found and striped some electric cable for her hair....it was copper so I painted it black.
The stand was found too. I covered it with tissue paper, then wood burnt the stripes, glazed it with yellow and white paint. The whole stand was then coated in wax.
I don't have names for her yet...any suggestions!.....well I'm off for a walk!

two more paintings!

My brother can fly!

Two friends have a teaparty
Currently not for sale

These two are painted on a beautiful unprimed canvas board. Using canvas board has opened up a few more possibilities size for one thing and weight. I like using wood but it gets heavy to lug around and finding someone to cut it up isn't always easy.
I'm still at Dunmoochin and you can see more photo's of my surroundings here!

Morning....and time to share my new work!!

Boy with flowers. Currently not for sale

Such a wonderful productive week. As soon as I start one painting another idea pops in my head for a next one. Which is great because I can't work unless I have 3 or 4 paintings on the go. Some paintings simply fall into place while others get constructed and deconstructed constantly until I feel that it works. I've a few experimental works on the go. Trying out new surfaces to paint on.
As my carpenter buddy is in Hobart I can't ask him to build or cut boards up for me so I'm relying on what I can find at art stores. All the paintings I've been working on recently are very small and I'm hanging out to do some big, big paintings!!! Should I wait till I get back home? I don't know if I can wait!

Alice follows the White Rabbit, Currently not for sale

This is a mixed media work I did before my paints arrived. There was an empty frame on the wall which my brother said I could use. On my second day here I had an amzing encounter with this giant of a kangaroo. I was outside the house looking throught the trees when I realized what I was actually looking at was a kangaroo and he was staring right back at me. He was about 15 meters away maybe less. I could feel his gaze. He craned his neck as I moved and he streched to a hight of over 6ft! Ever since I've had a wonderful feeling of excitement looking out for him everytime I go for a walk. I've seen many kangaroo's even had an clser encounter with a large female with a joey in her pouch. So don't be suprised to see some roo's popping up in some of my future paintings!
And this is the front of my place. It used to be Clifton Pugh's first studio...paint drips can still be seen on the floor boards!

Hello!!!!!

Hi everyone!!! Back online! Alls well here at Dunmoochin. I'm loving my new environment. Birds, kangaroo's, wonderful people, the bushlands and my spacious cabin/studio.
My paints and tools arrived yesterday...so excited and I've even more new crazy ideas exploding in my head and on paper. I haven't stopped drawing since I arrived and already have stuck up illustrations around the room.
Last night I even knitted myself a scarf. Yep from start to finish! Well how can you not when your using size 20 needles and 'Alien Bumps' yarn from Guttersnipe. LOVE IT!!
I have to keep my posting short, not much bandwidth to play with....but just to remind those that haven't signed up for the give away you only have 2 days to do so.
Those that have, keep those fingers and toes crossed, it could be your name that gets pulled out of the beanie!
Good to be back
