Petit Fin

Petit Marie
Phew, I've nearly finished all my paintings for Suzi's class, this was one of the hardest but ended up to be quite fun. At first I didn't know what my interpretation of Marie Antoinette was going to be. my first thought was of her meeting Madame Guillotine! Suzi suggested to watch the movie Marie Antoinette, so I did and even thought the story and acting was a little on the dull side visually it was spectacular! The colours, costumes and pastries were just beautiful.
So my interpretation is totally fairytale, a bit melancholy and 'a midsummer nights dream'.

My favorite bit in the painting is the poodle, she might be deserving of a little portrait painting of herself one day!detail of pink poodle
I've extended one of my painting classes so I don't have to rush I now have to September to finish my last painting, yay!

Oh my goodness! I have a bit of a Marie Antoinette obsession and have been looking for some original artwork for quite a while. Is this painting ever going to be for sale? I would LOVE to buy it! Let me know?

Gorgeous, love the detail and the squashed crown lager bottlecap! Hope the retreat is fun and creative. If you plan to do anymore cotton reel creations would love to see them...I'm thinking of starting a little collection!

Grace I absolutely LOVE your painting! I really like those watery blue shades and the 3d bits. Have been meaning to get out my paints and now I am totally inspired. Agree with you about the movie...dull dull dull BUT pretty to look at.
