Ohhhhh poor Neddy! Just look at the mess he's in! A few nights back I heard the screech of cats fighting just outside my door, knowing one of those voices was Ned's I ran quickly to defend my little boy...It was so dark outside you could just make out Ned and the blackest of black cats both poised to strike at one another...I yelled at the intruder he took off into the night...like a phantom. Ned wouldn't come in, he hid under the car in our drive for a while. I didn't notice anything wrong with him till the next day...a little wound just below his front shoulder...honestly it didn't look that bad..I washed it and put a bit of antiseptic on it. The next day however the wound was much clearer and I could see that it was quite a deep skin cut and knew he was destined to see the vet.
And indeed Ned did go to the vet yesterday. He was unbelievably well behaved, this wasn't his first time there he had a much worse injury when my partner first found him, he had been shot with a bow and arrow, so maybe Ned knew he was in good hands. He had his operation last night and his teeth cleaned at the same time, when we picked him up I couldn't believe how much fur they had to shave off...and all those stitches...and the bucket! He is such a sad site, but is handling things not too badly, we have the log fire going just for him, pillows and his favorite Townes Van Zandt album playing:) He'll be ok I'm sure.

Poor kitty :o( My poor cat also was injured by a mean cat, which left a claw on his nose, and a cut that infected on his side. The vet shaved his face poor thing. Looked like a Picasso kitty for a few weeks :oP
Hope your feels better soon!
Yes, poor kitty. Hope he recovers fast... Bet he is not caring for that necklace he's wearing...lol
hugz
Oh the poor little guy. Can't animals be so mean to each other?
At least he's in good hands :)
Poor Neddy. Sounds like he's well looked after though.
Poor ol' Ned, but with you to nurse him Grace, I'm sure he'll be out and about in no time at all.
Hugs,
Sandi
poor Ned,
Schrodey was once caught by a fox and we thought she wouldn't survive - but she did - with one of his teeth still in her flank, and a chunk of his face under her claws
she made a full recovery - but rarely goes outside now...
Dx
thank you everyone for sending your well wishes to Ned...and for sharing your stories...OMG Ned is pretty lucky...I can't imagine having your cats face shaved...it must have been such a sad site. They are tough little buggers...but coming face to face with a fox..sounds like neither party won. I wish Ned didn't want to go outside so much, you should hear the plaintive meow's!
Yes he is named after Ned Kelly, well done Yve!
Oh the poor thing. He looks so sad, but he will pull through with you caring for him. This is the reason all four of my cats stay inside!

Poor Ned, he looks miserable! I hope he feels better soon. I'm sure you'll be giving him lots of extra cuddles x
Poor Ned, our cat had a similar mishap not so long ago as well, if you ever see "that" cat again, you can try throw or spray some water over him/her, they'll stay away in future. Poor Ned, he'll have to claim his territory again when he get's out again, he's so good wearing the collar !! Good luck and take care xoxo
He's in good hands, and he has good taste in music! :~P Hugs, girl. Our pets are our babies, and sometimes I think this stuff hurts us as much as it hurts them.
Oh Grace how horrible, I hope he is doing better.
